Project Olive No More
This El Dorado Hills home originally reflected a Tuscan style that no longer suited the space and was ready for a fresh direction.
The redesigned kitchen now showcases a warm yet modern aesthetic that blends natural wood cabinetry with clean, modern elements. The space features Denver door style cabinetry with slab drawer fronts in Maple Rye stain, wrapping the perimeter with rich, organic warmth while providing generous, floor-to-ceiling storage.
The centerpiece Painted Oat island brings balance to the space, lightening the overall palette while maintaining a timeless feel. Both the base cabinets and island are finished with Shaker-style ends, adding subtle dimension and handcrafted character throughout the design.
Glass Door upper cabinets provide an elegant display area while breaking up the expanse of solid doors, and a custom range hood serves as a refined focal point over the cooktop. The bright, window-lined perimeter floods the space with natural light, enhancing the organic wood tones and creating an open, airy atmosphere.
Overall, the design feels timeless, intentional, and highly functional — a harmonious blend of classic warmth and modern simplicity.
Thoughtful functionality is built into every detail, including a dedicated base microwave cabinet that keeps appliances seamlessly integrated into the layout. A specialty base cabinet for the ice maker features a custom wire-mesh door insert, allowing proper ventilation while maintaining a refined aesthetic.
