Project Gather
Designed around the idea of bringing people together, Project Gather transformed and expanded this Folsom kitchen into a spacious, functional, and beautifully connected heart of the home. What was once a more confined layout has now become an open, light-filled environment that seamlessly blends warmth, practicality, and timeless design — perfect for both daily living and large-scale entertaining.
At the center of the design is the oversized island — a true gathering point and multifunctional workspace. With ample seating, generous countertop surface, and direct connection to the cooking area, the island naturally draws people in. Custom details elevate its function even further: the center of the island features a hidden door for discreetly storing banquet tables, keeping them accessible for hosting while maintaining a clean, uncluttered aesthetic. Beneath the countertops, drawers are outfitted with Peg dish organizers and smooth rollout trays built with maple dovetail drawer boxes, delivering both organization and long-lasting craftsmanship.
Storage was designed to be intuitive and chef-friendly. A dedicated pull-out utensil cabinet keeps cooking tools neatly organized and within easy reach, while a pull-out spice cabinet provides clear visibility and effortless access to frequently used seasonings — eliminating cluttered cabinets and lost jars.
The cabinetry showcases the Barren Door Style in Duraform Linen, offering a fresh, contemporary look with subtle warmth that complements the stainless steel appliances, warm wood flooring, and natural light throughout the space. Open shelving near the range adds visual interest while keeping frequently used items accessible, blending style with everyday practicality.
From layout to materials to storage details, every aspect of Project Gather was designed with intention. This Folsom kitchen expansion doesn’t just look beautiful — it works beautifully, creating a seamless environment where cooking, hosting, and everyday moments naturally come together.
